Experimental Printmaking: Collagraphy Exploration

For participants aged 16+

Classes require a minimum of 2 participants to go ahead. If a class you have booked does not meet the minimum, you will be offered an alternative date.

Transform textures into art. In this workshop, you'll build, carve, and collage materials onto plates to create richly layered prints. Collagraphy is where sculpture meets printmaking — every ridge, groove, and surface becomes part of your unique visual language.

Every session is a new adventure, shaped by my latest experiments, your ideas, and the group's creative energy. Even if you've tried collagraphy before, you'll find fresh ways to manipulate materials, ink, and pressure to produce surprising results. That's the promise: a hands-on, evolving experience where your creativity sets the rules.

Purpose:

Empower you to push the boundaries of collagraphy. You'll learn to construct plates, experiment with textures, and print in ways that turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Hands-on and exploratory. I'll guide you through the basics, then give you the freedom to innovate.

We'll start with plate-building techniques, then move to inking and printing. The rest is up to you — layer, scrape, and press to discover what's possible.

Materials:

Plates, collage materials (e.g., fabric, paper, textured objects), glue, inks, and printing paper are provided. Feel free to bring small, flat items to incorporate into your plates.
