Mixed Media Bookmarks: Tiny Canvases, Big Creativity

For participants aged 16+

Classes require a minimum of 2 participants to go ahead. If a class you have booked does not meet the minimum, you will be offered an alternative date.

Create unique, functional art in this hands-on workshop. Use paper, fabric, paint, and found objects to design bookmarks that are as personal as the books they'll mark. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to play with layers, textures, and small-scale storytelling.

Every session is shaped by my latest experiments, your ideas, and the group's energy. No two bookmarks (or workshops) are the same. Even if you've made bookmarks before, you'll discover new techniques or fresh ways to combine materials.

Purpose:

Introduce you to mixed media techniques on a small, accessible scale. Leave with a set of handcrafted bookmarks and the confidence to keep creating.

Format:

Hands-on and experimental. I'll demonstrate techniques, then you'll dive into making your own.

Structure:

Start with a demo of mixed-media layering, then enjoy dedicated time to create, experiment, and refine your bookmarks.

Materials:

All essentials provided: paper, fabric scraps, paints, glue, and decorative elements (e.g., ribbons, beads). Bring any personal items (e.g., pressed flowers, leaves, photos, stickers) to personalise your designs.

Duration: 2 hours

Price: £25
