Sense of Place

For participants aged 16+

Classes require a minimum of 2 participants to go ahead. If a class you have booked does not meet the minimum, you will be offered an alternative date.

Explore the stories hidden in landscapes, memories, and the spaces around you. In this workshop, you'll use various media and storytelling to capture the essence of places — real or imagined — that hold meaning for you. Whether it's a childhood home, a favourite walk, or a place you've only dreamed of, you'll bring it to life through art.

Every session is shaped by my latest experiments, your personal connections, and the energy of the group. No two workshops are the same. Even if you've explored this theme before, you'll uncover new ways to see, interpret, and express the places that shape you. That's the promise: a reflective, evolving creative experience where your perspective takes centre stage.

Purpose:

Connect you to your environment and personal experiences through creative expression. We'll blend discussion with hands-on art-making to help you translate memories and emotions into visual stories.

Format:

A reflective and creative workshop that balances conversation with artistic exploration.

Structure:

We'll start with an introduction to themes of place and memory, followed by time to create mixed-media pieces. Optionally, share the stories behind your work with the group.

Materials:

All necessary mixed-media supplies are provided. Feel free to bring personal items or inspiration — photos, texts, or objects — that resonate with your sense of place.

Duration: 3 hours

Price: £50
